Looking for new members of Tariki Community

For the past two years Tariki Trust has been developing its centre in Narborough, just outside Leicester. Besides our training programme in Buddhist psychotherapy, we are also now offering facilities for counselling and groups with a dedicated consulting room and a larger shrine space. Recently we have heard that one of our community members is planning to move on, which means that we now have space for short and long term residential members of the community. Ideally we would like to find people who practice as therapists or in a related field who could share in the use and care of the facilities here. We are open to others with complementary interests. The house has a large shrine room, a library and a pleasant garden which can be used for therapeutic work. In between training course blocks it is quiet and a good place for writing or relaxing. We also offer residential therapy retreats in which people stay in the house and have daily (or twice daily) sessions over three or four days. If you are interested in any of the following do email me:

  • Living and working in a Buddhist community
  • Stays of up to three months for writing, reflection or a change of scene
  • Intensive therapy retreats
  • Renting a consulting room or group space
  • Away days
  • Supervision (in person or on skype)
  • personal therapy
  • Training events and CPD
  • Ecotherapy Intensive
  • On-line courses

Grounded in Faith: Psychotherapy and Pureland - paper presented at European Shin Conference 2012

In the modern age, psychotherapy has become a route which many people choose to help them face and move beyond their personal suffering. Not surprisingly many Western therapists tend to gravitate towards Buddhist ideas and, conversely, Buddhists are often interested in exploring how their faith…

Running Tide Article

I wrote this article for Running Tide back in January but it didnt get published and as Running Tide has only just come out, things had obviously moved on. I'm putting it up here because it seems like a pity to waste a good article - or even a mediocre one!
