Working together for a better world...
As you have probably seen from the photos I have been in France for the last ,month - initially running the Ten Directions programme and latterly starting on the work to get the place ready for summer. With three volunteers in residence and more scheduled to join them, the coming couple of months will be a busy time getting the gardens going, cutting the grass with the new lawn mower (long story) and keeping the paths clipped.
It is a magical time. Our morning practuice each day starts with walks through the dew jewelled fields, noticing the slow and sometimes not so slow changes as trees burst into leaf, different flowers open, and grass grows longer. Sometimes the air is still chill from night or a mist hangs over the fields. Sometimes there are fresh deer tracks on the path. Always there is a choir of bird song on all sides. Walking in nature, nembutsu greets us from all quarters and whatever our troubles, something calls from the wayside to brighten our spirits.
So it is with regret but confidence that I leave our little team developing the house and land. Until late June.... Namo Amida Bu
