What is your involvement in Tariki?
At present, no involvement
Are you a student or have you studied with us?
I am interested in studying for the certificate in counselling for mindfulness trainers in 2016
What can you offer?
I have been meditating for almost 30 years and teaching meditation for some 15 years. I have been teaching mindfulness for 10 years. I have experience of leading courses, one to one work, day retreats, weekend retreats and for 5 years I was part of the Breathworks International Training team, working with Vidyamala Burch to train people to the level of accredited mindfulness trainer.
Are there things you would like to see Tariki doing or want to know more about?
I am not familiar enough with Tariki to be able to answer this question. I look forward to exploring what is on offer more fully over coming months and years.

Do you have a web site?

I trained as a mindfulness trainer in 2004, with Vidyamala Burch and the Breathworks team. Between 2005 and 2010, I created a not for profit mindfulness project 'Breathworks Cardiff.'  This was one of the first mindfulness providers in the Cardiff area and offered courses, day events and retreats for professionals and the general public.  I was also a member of the Breathworks international training team, helping to train people to become accredited mindfulness trainers.

Since 2013 I have worked independently, delivering a variety of mindfulness courses for groups and on a one to one basis. Skype sessions are available where geography makes it impossilbe to meet face to face.

I have developed work with carers and with parents.  I have also qualified through the Mindfulness in Schools Project to deliver mindfulness to 11-18 year olds and to teachers.  I am looking forward to training in the pauseb course for 7-11year olds in October 2015.

I am also qualified in a range of body-work therapies, including aromatherapy and holistic massage.  These body-based interventions can be supportive conditions for the deepening of awareness and enhance onex connection with the ways in which emotions are manifested in the body.

Currently I am in the early stages of training in Hakomi Psychotherapy.  Whilst I am not qualified, the principle of this work are slowly beginning to inform my practice.

Grounded in Faith: Psychotherapy and Pureland - paper presented at European Shin Conference 2012

Grounded in Faith: Psychotherapy and Pureland

Since the time of the Buddha people have looked to Buddhism as a source of salvation from their unhappiness and confusion. In the modern age, psychotherapy has become a route which many people choose to help them face and move beyond their personal suffering. Not surprisingly many Western therapists tend to gravitate towards Buddhist ideas and, conversely, Buddhists are often interested in exploring how their faith…

Running Tide Article

I wrote this article for Running Tide back in January but it didnt get published and as Running Tide has only just come out, things had obviously moved on. I'm putting it up here because it seems like a pity to waste a good article - or even a mediocre one!
