SomaQuest: An Embodied & Nature-Based Enquiry following the Ten Directions Ecotherapy Model
with Carla Walmsley-Esteves
The impulse towards enquiry and knowledge has always been part of the evolution of humanity. Embodied Knowing or embodied enquiry is a way to deepen our ecological understanding.
This workshop offers a brief introduction and experience to the newly developed process of ‘embodied and nature-based enquiry’, following the Ten Directions Ecotherapy Model.
Participants would be encouraged to explore what is alive in them in relation to nature as a starting point and respond by being with what is unfolding moment-to-moment in their bodies and in nature. As we move through each of the ten directions, we will invite a dialogue with our felt-sense and pay attention to other information arising whether through the senses or the kinaesthetic, proprioceptive, interoceptive channels, or through associated feelings, emotions, images, metaphors, and gestures , towards an embodied knowing.
Please bring some arts material like crayons, oils pastels, watercolour, pen and paper. Easy access to a nearby garden, park or nature needed as well as some rain proof clothes for when outdoors.
Date and Time: Thursday 6th May 2.00-5.00 (Note this is three hours)
Booking: email firstname.lastname@example.org
Carries three hours credit for Ten Directions students
