‘… and like the moon,
she had a side of her
so dark, that even the stars
couldn’t shine on it..’
Just like ourselves, the moon has a dark side that she does not show readily. She keeps it in shadow, even as her brightness illuminates our path. There are very few who have ever seen it, yet it completes her nature. Her timing is cyclical or spiral, it does not run on tracks. She waxes to fullness, and wanes to almost invisibility, before re-appearing to shine. In her silent power she pulls the oceans to her call.
The moon not only has associations to the seasonal changes in our calendar year but also to secrecy, hidden depths, psychic wounds, mystery and unnamed fear. During this day workshop we will explore the lunar mysteries, with particular emphasis on her dark side. We will use mythology, magick, tarot and shamanic techniques to work with our own dormant depths.
This is an opportunity to work closely with the moon using a blend of approaches, to open some doors in the unknown and to make peace with regret. Prior to the workshop, please collect a few items from nature (2-5 small things) that make you think of the dark side of the moon.
