Event Description

Bodhakari Kirsti Rand trained at Tariki (then under Amida Trust) completing the Advanced Certificate in Counselling and the Diploma in Psychotherapy. She has managed a counselling service for young people aged 14-25 in Croydon for the past 10 years. The service has a team of clinicians; staff, volunteers and trainees which is part of a larger agency providing support to young people in the London Boroughs of Croydon, Sutton and Merton. She also provides clinical supervision and has trained in managing a Children and Young people’s IAPT service. The role involves facilitating some training.. Bodhakari is also a member of the Triratna Buddhist order, and teaches meditation, mindfulness and Buddhism at the Croydon Buddhist Centre on a regular basis.

From her training at Amida/Tariki Bodhakari has a particular interest in identity building, and this workshop will be on the theme of looking how our individual identities are structured, what is primary and what is less important in the formation of the web that is our identity, and how this might inform our interactions and work with others.

Forums: This gathering of those interested in the cross-overs between Buddhism and therapists takes place every couple of months. We generally have a speaker or workshop facilitator. The content of session varies hugely but all are high quality events, suitable for professional as CPD.

Cost £25 including lunch (Tariki students £15)

CPD letters available on demand

Booking: contact courses@tarikitrust.org

This forum will be followed by a retreat on Sunday 10th September.

I wrote this article for Running Tide back in January but it didnt get published and as Running Tide has only just come out, things had obviously moved on. I'm putting it up here because it seems like a pity to waste a good article - or even a mediocre one!
