Working together for a better world...
'Alchemy' may have a mysterious ring to it, but its principles will be quite familiar. It can be seen as the old symbolic language for understanding psyche, ecos and their dependence on each other - psychotherapy, ecology, ecotherapy - before these became falsely 'separated' in our culture. Mutual embeddedeness. Mutual embodiedness. Psyche depends on ecos for its existence. The condition of ecos depends on psyche's willingness to recognise this. The human refusal to do so has damaged the Earth, overheating and threatening it existentially - physically, psycho-spiritually, socially. To accept it, as a person, is to change the orientating meaning of one's life, and to work with the Earth in its own deepening.
Alchemy is an art and science that spiritual traditions share at their heart about the process of becoming human. We will explore ecological and psychospiritual process and experience, and how these have been depicted in past and more recent esoteric teachings. Ultimately, it is about the evolution of Earth and the human role within it, should we choose to accept it.
If the work of the workshop is taken into life to experiment with, it is hoped that participants will come back to part 2 on March 27th to share and discuss their experiences and expressions.
